Abby lived alone in a small house by the cornfield. Every morning, she would sit on her front porch and rock in her chair, watching the sun rise over the horizon. She had no family, no friends, no one to talk to. Her only companions were three crows that would perch on her front porch and caw at her. She didn't mind the crows. In fact, she liked their company. She would feed them some bread crumbs and talk to them as if they understood her. She would tell them stories about her past, her dreams, her regrets. She felt a pang of sadness in her heart thinking that he had finally left her, that he had found a better place to live. She went out to the porch and sat in her rocking chair, feeling lonely and empty. A few days later, she heard her doorbell ring. She gasped when she opened her door. There stood an older gentleman in a black suit wearing a black hat staring back at her.
