Max Reinhardt was a pioneer of the modern director's theatre and co-founder of the Salzburg Festival. Almost miraculously, something of the magic of this great man of the theatre can still be sensed in Salzburg: on summer evenings when "Everyman" is performed on the city's Domplatz, and at Schloss Leopoldskron, his former residence - still today one of his most genial and elegant productions.
