This unique book that deals with project communication management in complex environments, taking a leaf from China’s experience with a major earthquake in Sichuan, would be a timely contribution to fill this lacuna. Readers would be able to understand how companies and organizations that are unprepared for crisis management would react to their detriment. The lessons provided in this book are the only one of its kind to highlight the lessons for companies and organizations to prepare themselves for successful project communication management through the complexity-informed framework. Although the book is written by two building professionals, the concepts and lessons presented are generic and equally applicable for businesses outside of the construction industry; for example, for airports, resorts, hotels, shipyards, etc.

Dr. Zhong Ying is presently working for the Shanghai Urban and Rural Construction and Transportation Development Research Institute, China with senior management responsibilities for urban construction, policy research and formulation as well as consultation. Before this present appointment, he has worked for Chinese enterprises in real estate development and construction as well as a project management consultant in various parts of China. Dr. Zhong holds a MSc(Eng) degree from the University of Birmingham and a PhD degree from the National University of Singapore. Dr. Low Sui Pheng is presently Professor of Building in the School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore where he has previously served as Head and Vice-Dean. He teaches construction project management and has published, researched and consulted extensively both in Singapore and overseas. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, he holds a DSc degree from the University of Birmingham and a PhD degree from University College London.
