Fire Protection for Structures and Life Safety

The International Building Code (the primary building code adopted in the United States and the world) contains both the requirements for structural fire protection and life safety. Both these topics are related to building design. This book designed to help the professional engineer be able to understand both the requirements for the building layout in terms of what is structurally required (and why it is required) as well as how this then impacts life safety. It combines the structural fire protection requirements as well as a far deeper discussion on other important issues associated with egress design like human behavior and tenability.
