M.P. Furmston TD, MA, BCL, LLM, Bencher of Gray’s Inn, was Professor of Law at the University of Bristol from 1978-98. He is now Emeritus Professor and senior research fellow. He is well known as the editor of Cheshire, Fifoot and Furmston on Contract and his other books include Cases and Materials on Contract with Hugh Beale and William Bishop. He is the editor of Construction Law Reports.

Vincent Powell-Smith LLM, DLitt, FCIArb was a leading authority on building contracts and a practicing arbitrator. He was a former Council member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and, for some years, Professor of Law at the University of Malaysia and the International Islamic University, Malaysia. He was originally Joint Editor of Construction Law Reports.
