This book tells the story of a sweet little puppy who needs a home. Nani and Papa have an empty home that needs to be filled with joy and love. Squirt Gets a New Home is the story of how they find one another and share comfort, security, and love. On a deeper level, this story is also a tool for adoptive parents to begin to explain the adoption experience with preschoolers. The prevailing theme is that the adoption experience is based upon love at all levels. Farmer Friendly knows that his puppies need to be placed in loving homes to get the care they need to thrive. When he decides to share his puppies, he does so out of love. Nani and Papa have an empty home and lots of time and attention to share with a new little one. When Squirt comes to live with Nani and Papa, he is welcomed with open arms. As the story unfolds, it addresses a few bumps in the road as they all get to know and understand one another as well as some lessons learned along the way. In the end, they all live happily ever after!
