ATHENA A. DREWES, PsyD, RPT-S, is Senior Psychologist and Clinical Coordinator of the Astor Home for Children, a residential treatment center in New York. She is the founder and past-president of the New York branch of the Association for Play Therapy. J. CAREY, MSW, CSW, is a social worker in private practice in New York and a supervisor for the Association for Play Therapy, as well as the current President of its New York branch. CHARLES E. SCHAEFER, PhD, has been a major force behind the growth of play therapy practice in this country. He is cofounder and board member emeritus of the Association for Play Therapy, as well as the author/editor of numerous books on the subject, including Handbook of Play Therapy, vols. 1 and 2, Game Play, and Play Diagnosis and Assessment (all from Wiley).
