The first comprehensive text that bridges the gap between neuropsychological assessment and intervention for children and adolescents with prevalent emotional and behavioral disorders.
This is the first comprehensive text that bridges the gap between neuropsychological assessment and intervention for children and adolescents with common emotional and behavioral disorders.

This is a timely and important issue as clinical researchers—and the field at large—are increasingly able to translate basic brain science into empirically supported clinical assessments and interventions. Co-editors Reddy, Weissman, and Hale—all first-rate clinical researchers—selected the emotional and behavioral disorders examined in each chapter based on their high prevalence in children and adolescents (e.g., OCD, ADHD, anxiety disorders, conduct disorders, etc.) and the lack of published books integrating neuropsychology and treatment for these conditions.

Written for clinicians and other practitioners who are involved with treating children and adolescents with common behavioral disorders in this young population, this book will also appeal to clinical researchers and to students in graduate psychology courses.

Linda A. Reddy, PhD, is an associate professor of psychology at Rutgers University. She has over 65 publications and five books focused on assessing and treating children with attention-deficity/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and ADHD-related disorders, teacher assessment, and test development and validation.  She has received several grants and awards for her research and service. Dr. Reddy is a fellow of APA and President-Elect of APA Division 16 (School Psychology).   Adam S. Weissman, PhD, is the director and founder of Child, Family, and Adult Services of Westchester and the Child/Adolescent Treatment Center at the Institute for Behavior Therapy in New York City. He is an adjunct clinical professor/supervisor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva and Columbia Universities, and a clinical consultant at Harvard Medical School's Judge Baker Children's Center. Dr. Weissman is an accomplished clinical researcher with over a dozen articles, book chapters, and edited books, and over 40 professional presentations, the majority focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy and neuropsychological assessment for children and adolescents.   James B. Hale, PhD, MEd, ABSNP, ABPdN, is a professor of education and pediatrics at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He has over 20 years of experience as a special education teacher, school psychologist, and neuropsychologist. As principal investigator of BrainGain, Dr. Hale conducts research that makes neuropsychological assessment relevant for school intervention for children with high incidence learning and behavior problems. A frequent conference presenter, Dr. Hale has numerous scholarly publications, including the critically-acclaimed, bestselling book, School Neuropsychology: A Practitioner's Handbook.
