William Harmon is professor of English at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. One of his published volumes of poetry, Mutatis Mutandis, received the coveted William Carlos Williams Award. He is the editor of several poetry anthologies, including The Oxford Book of American Light Verse, and is co-editor, with C. Hugh Holman, of the fifth edition of A Handbook to Literature.
