Sally Douglas and Imogen Carn met after the sudden deaths of their mothers only months apart. Struck by the lack of resources that spoke about grief in an honest yet uplifting way, they launched the podcast Good Mourning, quickly attracting a following with their fresh take and authentic experience. One million downloads later, the podcast has become one of the largest grief support communities on Instagram, connecting more than 100K people eager to have honest conversations about life and loss.
Good Mourning, the book, is a compassionate survival guide for anyone dealing with grief, including:
- Real talk about the many ways grief impacts our lives (hello ugly crying, exhaustion and 'grief brain')
- How to cope with changes in relationships, whether friendships, partners or family members
- Tips on navigating isolation and loneliness, grief at work, holidays and milestones, and much more
- Expert advice from clinical psychologist Tamara Cavenett
- Warm words and insights from hundreds of fellow grievers
Whether you're one month in or ten years down the track, Good Mourning will help you make sense of life after loss - and know that you're not alone.
Sally Douglas and Imogen Carn are co-hosts of the podcast Good Mourning and creators of the Instagram account @goodmourningpodcast. Sally and Imogen met at a grief support event after both suddenly losing their mothers only months apart. They instantly bonded, finding healing through their connection. Struck by the lack of resources that spoke about grief in an honest yet uplifting way, Sal and Im launched Good Mourning in September 2020. Their fresh take and authentic experience quickly resonated, growing into an online community of more than 100,000 fellow grievers worldwide. In addition to their work on Good Mourning, Sally is a life coach and senior communications consultant and Im has worked on some of Australia's leading reality television shows as well as caring for her four-year-old daughter.
