This volume is one of the most significant books in the history of spiritual literature. The subject itself, 'Our Divine and Cosmic Identity,' might suggest the validity of this statement. This appraisal is not a personal, egotistical one, since it is fully realized that no individual creates anything alone. (See the chapter 'Within the Archangelic Consciousness.') Ultimately, this book is the expression of the Whole. The contents would not have appeared but for the presence of a few spiritual colleagues who consistently provided a creative context. Beyond these were others who constituted the mailing list, to whom the transcripts were sent. Above all, I acknowledge the foundational awareness provided by Lloyd Arthur Meeker (Uranda) and Martin Exeter, whose genius, lives and words opened the way for this book, which I consider to be an extension of their ministry.
This volume one of the most significant books in the history of spiritual literature. The subject itself, "e;Our Divine and Cosmic Identity,"e; might suggest the validity of this statement. This appraisal is not a personal, egotistical one, since it is fully realized that no individual creates anything alone. (See the chapter "e;Within the Archangelic Consciousness."e;) Ultimately, this book is the expression of the Whole. The chapters are transcriptions of talks given from June 1997 to August 2002. "e;The Eternal Presence"e; was written in 1982. It is not imagined that these talks are the last word on any of the subjects considered. They are to be seen, rather, as helpful glimpses of a greater perspective yet to emerge more fully in our experience. Their primary value does not lie at the conceptual level, but in the spiritual radiation emerging through them. We find ourselves indwelling a state that is abysmally unconscious of true Identity and purpose. Reawakening the human consciousness to awareness of our divine and cosmic Self is but an initial step in the return to sentient participation in the eternal and glorious life of Being. This adventure will certainly continue to unfold. May the following pages be of assistance as you seek to fulfill your divine commission. * * * The reader should not be deterred by some possibly unfamiliar language. A small glossary is provided, and for the willing, spacious reader any challenge will quickly fade. The capitalization of some words is not always grammatically accurate or consistent, but may convey nuances of meaning which must be spiritually discerned.

CHAPTER 1

Location, Location, LOCATION

Small group though we are, most of us over the past several years have had plenty to do with real estate. Some have actually been working as agents, others have been buying or selling property. It has been quite conspicuous in our activity. There’s a saying in real estate relative to the value of property: “Location, location, location.” This of course refers to the placement of a property, which affects its cash value. For example, it needs to be surrounded by other properties that are at least of equal value—preferably with good access to desirable facilities in the town, but not on a noisy street, and so on. Those are the sort of factors that go into the determination of the value of the piece of property—namely, its location.

Location on earth has proven to be a very important factor in the larger picture. You’ll find that the historical rise of certain nations has had a tremendous amount to do with their location. The wealth and importance of a city can usually be traced to its location. For example, we might think of Cairo on the Nile delta. There was a very fertile setting for growing food, and it was on a big river which facilitated trade, and so on. I think of London, which was always important in Britain because it was on a river, and invasions from Europe meant that people landed and settled in that area. Then it was a trading route between Britain and Europe. So there again, its location was very significant in its development. And one final example, perhaps—New York. People coming from Europe landed there, and it was on a river that facilitated commercial trafficking. The railways made the city the eastern terminal. People arriving in the New World landed there, and many stayed, so the city grew in size and variety of culture. It was facing Europe and the trading was significant. So the basic principle here is that location in the Earth is significant to the rise of centers of activity, wealth, importance.

It’s interesting that in one of the latest developments in human exploration—namely, cyberspace—we are finding that the location of a Web site is proving to be of particular significance. Almost anybody can have their own Web page, or location, in this new space. There are millions of them already. But beyond this, in order to develop commercial sites, for example, they’re developing what are called cyberspace malls, where different products are grouped together for easy access. And what makes these locations valuable are things very similar to what proved to be valuable in the development of physical sites—the proximity to other important centers, for example. These Web malls are accessed through certain words that are the highways in cyberspace. (Words are the highways in consciousness also.) The quality of information that can be obtained at any particular site makes it a valuable location. And be it commercial or specialized knowledge, there are certain sites that are becoming more significant than others. It will cost more to be located at such sites, on certain information highways, you might say. So again, location will determine value. No matter what the field of human development, location is proving to be a very important factor relative to its value.

The Earth’s vibration is changing and the ascension process is influencing the body and consciousness of mankind. This is one reason why man’s activity is being forced into new levels of vibrational substance, such as cyberspace. If you remember, Uranda once pointed out that all human inventions are projections of principles contained in the subconsciousness of human beings. The principles are contained in the human mechanism—be they electrical, relative to pumps, or waste disposal, or chemical engineering. Uranda pointed out that all human discoveries are projections of those principles into externalized mechanisms, with which man then creates in his own distorted ways. Cyberspace is another example of this, because it represents, you might say, either the highest of the physical level of substance or the lowest levels of the substance of mind. But, anyway, control will increasingly come to focus in this level of substance. So this matter of location and the centers of power within this level of substance will become more significant, and their effects will be felt in the lower levels of substance; namely, civilization.

Now if we move on to consider the subject of location in the spiritual world, what does this entail? Because presumably we want to be in the right location, you might say, where we can be of most value in the operation of divine creative activity. Well, in the undimensional, spiritual levels of Being, it can be tricky talking about location if it’s out of time and space! However, in order to make it somewhat comprehensible, we can still utilize the idea of location. In the spiritual world each of us, every Angel, is a unique focus of spiritual characteristics or qualities. Each unique focus of spiritual factors is the only such one in the overall body of Spirit, and that is our “location.” There is a location and it’s a unique focus of spiritual factors. Nothing can take that position from anybody. That is what we are in spirit. And that is our location in the body of God, one might say. That’s our location. That’s our identity. Our identity is our location in the spiritual sense.

On the fourth day of Creation, the stars in the heaven appeared. They were already there. Each star, each focalization of light, each Divine Being, was in its place, in its location; but on the fourth day they became visible from the earth, in the earth. And that really is what we are about now in this phase of our lives: that where we are in the heaven should be made visible in the earth. Our location in heaven should be visible in the earth. And it’s natural enough that the only way that can happen is for each of us to embody in the lower levels of substance, in the earth, what we are in spirit, who we truly are. When we embody who we truly are individually, that shines on the earth and is visible in the earth. Of course, most people won’t see it because there are clouds obscuring their vision of the heaven. But as far as we’re concerned individually, we know who we are. We’re spiritual Beings. We know the quality of that Being and we’re letting it shine upon the earth, and that is of tremendous value and worth. In fact, it’s the only value and worth that we have in being alive.

Speaking of location in the earth, I think we are very definitely beyond the notion which many people have, that their significance relates to their location in the earth or in the earthly design of things. Often they’re thoroughly embedded in the earthly identity and consciousness, and therefore they feel that their value is in their earthly location—maybe where they live physically. “Unless I live in New York, where all the culture is, I’m not living. Unless I’m living where the intellectuals or the artists are, I can’t possibly have a rich life.” Or it may relate to their employment. “Unless I’m a (you-name-it) lawyer, politician, nurse, doctor, I’m not significant.” But one can ask oneself how significant any of those earthly roles are, of themselves. I think we all agree that, of themselves, they achieve very little, although we all have to be doing something. Well what are we doing? Our real job is shining upon the earth—letting our light shine upon the earth, out of heaven. And here’s the value, here’s the way to experience the real quality of life.

Human beings are always talking about seeking the quality of life. From the religious standpoint, location is important. They say they’re going to heaven. They’re going somewhere where the quality of life will be really great—but at some other time, after they die!

All human activity actually is an endeavor to improve the quality of life, no matter how misplaced some of those endeavors may be. There’s no need for us to go anywhere else or do anything else in the external sense to experience the finest quality of life possible on Earth. We can still do whatever the job is we’re doing, whatever the external activities are that we’re doing now, and we can still live in the same homes, wherever they are. But if we express the quality of who we are in Divine Identity, we will find the quality of the Identity permeates where we are in earthly location and brings about the highest value, and the finest quality of experience. In other words, oddly enough, from the new perspective, I AM is the location. I AM is the quality that everybody longs to experience on Earth. Each of us can say that. Everybody can say that. So where I AM is the significant location. Where I AM is the valuable location in my service to the Lord and to the whole. It doesn’t matter where it is on Earth, because actually a star in the heaven is viewable at night from anywhere on its side of the Earth.

Our true Identity is always the significant location. And throughout eternity, where I AM is a focus of divine experience in the heaven, in whatever forms we find ourselves in the eons to come. In true Identity we’re always here and now. Always, we are here, wherever that is. Actually it is where I AM. I am here now. And throughout eternity that is going to be our location. You can never be “there.” And you can’t be “last year” or “next year.” You have to be here and now, and this then will eternally be the divine location...
