"e;Dr. J.H. Allen of Portland...a strong and interesting speaker and many of his ideas and the results of his researches are original and unique...ancestry of Queen Victoria has been traced all the way back to Adam."e; -Spokane Chronicle, Nov. 8, 1902"e;J.H. Allen, evangelist, is evidently a man who believes that the Bible says is the word of God...the author dispels the prevailing notion that all prophecy is fulfilled...the children of Abraham are to be gathered together."e; -Farmer City Journal, July 25, 1902"e;Chares Fox Parham, a Kansas evangelical who later founded Pentecostalism, and J.H. Allen, who would assist in found the Church of God (Holiness) were believers and teachers in British-Israel doctrine."e; -America's Alternative Religions (1995)A leading intellectual leader in the British Israelism movement who had in 1902 published the widely popular book, "e;Judah's Sceptre,"e; how did J.H. Allen view his prophetic predictions come true in 1920 with the Balfour Declaration setting up a Jewish homeland in Palestine?In 1920, John Harden Allen (1847 - May 14, 1930) would publish "e;The National Rebirth of Judah,"e; setting out just how the predictions in his earlier book "e;Judah's Sceptre,"e; had been vindicated by history, but with more still yet to come.British Israelism (also called Anglo-Israelism) is the belief that the people of Great Britain are "e;genetically, racially, and linguistically the direct descendants"e; of the Ten Lost Tribes of ancient Israel. With roots in the 16th century, British Israelism was inspired by several 19th century English writings such as John Wilson's 1840 Our Israelitish Origin. From the 1870s onward, numerous independent British Israelite organizations were set up throughout the British Empire as well as in the United States; as of the early 21st century, a number of these organizations are still active. In the United States, the idea gave rise to the Christian Identity movement.In introducing his book, Allen writes: "e;In dealing with this subject of the national rebirth of Judah we have shown that the work of President Wilson in Europe and its far-reaching results, in relation to Zionism, is the fulfillment of prophecy."e;About the author:John Harden Allen (1847 - May 14, 1930): was an American minister associated with the Church of God (Holiness), and British Israelism. He came from Illinois, later moving to Missouri in 1879. Originally a pastor in the Methodist Episcopal Church, he later became a pastor in the Wesleyan Methodist Church in California. He was one of the co-founders of the Church of God (Holiness) in 1883. He "e;evangelized throughout the West and eventually moved to Pasadena, California, where he died"e;. Around 1917 he produced a publication entitled Stone Kingdom Herald.Allen is best known for his book titled Judah's Sceptre and Joseph's Birthright (1902), which states that it is: "e;An Analysis of the Prophecies of the Scriptures in regard to the Royal Family of Judah and the Many Nations of Israel, the Lost Ten Tribes."e;
