This book introduces readers to the preparation of two-dimensional metal sulfide/oxide for CO2 photoreduction. Based on two-dimensional metal sulfide/oxide materials, this book establishes the structure-to-property relationships of photocatalyst for CO2 photoreduction, and reveals the intrinsic mechanism of the CO2 photoreduction by virtue of the in situ characterization techniques and the density functional theory calculations. It is anticipated that this book will help to identify empirical guidelines for designing and fabricating high-performance catalysts of solar-driven CO2 reduction.

Dr. Xingchen Jiao received his Ph.D. from The University of Science and Technology of China in 2019, under the supervision of Prof. Yi Xie. During his Ph.D. research, Dr. Jiao focused on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructures, especially two-dimensional materials, as well as their applications in CO2 photo-/electro-conversion into carbonaceous fuels. Since June 2019 he has worked as a postdoctoral research associate at The University of Science and Technology of China, where he turned research interest to the design of high-efficiency catalysts for converting waste plastics into valuable chemicals under mild conditions.  Dr. Jiao has co-published 28 refereed journal papers (to 31 May, 2022), including 10 papers as the first/co-first authors in flagship Materials & Chemistry journals such as Chem. Soc. Rev. (1), J. Am. Chem. Soc. (2), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (2), Adv. Mater. (1), ACS Cent. Sci. (1), and others. He was awarded the ExcellentDoctoral Dissertation of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2021), the President's Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2019), the National Scholarship for Doctoral Students (2018) and the National Scholarship for Postgraduate students (2016).
