The fourth volume in this series is a proceedings volume based on papers presented at the 5th Innovations in Regenerative Medicine and Cancer Research conference. Chapters are written by some of the most innovative minds in stem cell and tissue engineering research, and provide a comprehensive overview of papers from the most recent conference. The volume addresses tissue engineering principles and applications, including current trends and challenges, as well as future directions. Cutting edge topics of interest include production of functional tissues, vascularization and immune responses, and functionalization of scaffolds. Volumes in this series are invaluable resources for active researchers, clinicians, and professionals in industry, as well as students across a broad range of fields.

lt;p>Phuc Van Pham received his Ph.D. in Human Physiology from Viet Nam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. He is currently a Professor of Biology at Viet Nam National University and Director of Stem Cell Institute. He is a longstanding lecturer and translational scientist at the University, and is a member of several societies and journal editorial boards focused on stem cells as well as immunotherapy. Dr. Pham and his colleagues have established one of the first multidisciplinary stem cell centers in Viet Nam, and he has successfully launched an array of technologies in stem cell and immune cell therapy. His research interests include stem cell isolation, stem cell therapy, mesenchymal stem cells, cancer stem cells, immunotherapy and regenerative medicine and he has published extensively in these areas.

After many years of experience as an embryologist, cell biologist, and molecular biologist, collaborating with leading researchers in Singapore, Japan, and the United States, Dr. Pham is a student again, keen to reach beyond the traditional boundaries of biology.
