Oladele A. Ogunseitan, PhD, MPH, BCES, CPH, holds the University of California (UC) Presidential Chair at UC Irvine where he is a professor and the Founding Chair of the Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention, and professor of social ecology. He earned his professional master of public health degree at UC Berkeley focusing on environmental health and international health. He directs workforce development for the NIH-funded Institute of Clinical and Translational Science; and Training and Empowerment objective for the USAID-funded One Health Workforce-Next Generation. He serves on the Board of Directors of the UC Systemwide Global Health Institute Dele served two terms on the inaugural Board of Directors of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health. He served on the State of California's Green Ribbon Science Panel and the State's Advisory Committee on Community Protection and Hazardous Waste Reduction. He is co-chair of Apple, Inc.'s Green Chemistry Advisory Board. Dele is an alumni faculty fellow of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He was a Jefferson Science Fellow of the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. Dele served as a Foreign Affairs Officer in the U.S. Department of State's Office of International Health and Biodefence; whence he earned a certificate in Global Health Diplomacy at the U.S. Foreign Service Institute. His honors include a Meritorious Honor Award from the U.S. Department of State for "exceptional teamwork and contributions to the successful achievement of U.S. goals at the third United Nations Environment Assembly, December 2017." He holds Board Certification in Environmental Science from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. He is certified in Public Health by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.
