Jonathan L. Benumof, MD is Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He is a world-renowned expert on pulmonary physiology, anesthesia for thoracic surgery, airway management, and obstructive sleep apnea.  In recognition of his superb teaching, he has received numerous awards, most recently the 2010 Teaching Recognition Award Recipient for Achievement in Education from the International Anesthesia Research Society.
