NX-OS Configuration Fundamentals LiveLessons is a unique video product that provides a solid understanding of NX-OS technologies across five product families. Who Should Take This Course
Primary audience: The target audience for this book is the network engineer or operator.

Secondary audience: Help desk analysts or network administrators as well as data center certification candidates. The students should be intermediate to expert level.


Course Requirements
These LiveLessons assume common knowledge of Cisco IOS and network switching and routing theory. The typical student should have at least a CCNP certification and should be responsible for configuration and day-to-day operations of enterprise-level data center switches. The student could also be responsible for planning the interconnect strategy for data center devices.

1. Introduction to NX-OS
This unit has lessons that cover the history of NX-OS, platform support, command-line interface, file systems, VDCs, VDCs with advanced topics, and troubleshooting commands.

2. Layer 2 Support and Configuration
The lessons in this unit cover Layer 2 functionality within NX-OS. This includes spanning tree, advanced spanning tree, port channels, virtual port channel, and FabricPath.

3. Layer 3 Support and Configuration
Unit 3 covers Layer 3 topics including routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, and FHRP.

11. Overlay Transport Virtualization (OTV)
This unit begins with a basic overview of OTV, before moving on to coverage of network requirements and options, multihoming and failure isolation, FHRP localization, traffic depolarization, VLAN translation, and integration with LISP as well as next-generation fabrics.

12. Layer 3 Virtualization and MPLS
This unit covers Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) functionality, route import/export, basic and advanced MPLS topics, and MPLS Layer 2 VPNs.

13. Locator ID Separator Protocol (LISP)
