Safeguarding Electronic Information

In the computer age how do libraries balance the conflicting needs of protection and access? This was the focus of the 32nd annual symposium (the 13th to be published by McFarland) of the graduate alumni and faculty of the Rutgers School of Communication, Information and Library Studies. Chapters include "Protecting Electronic Data: A Losing Battle?" (Marlyn Kemper Littman, Nova Southeastern University), "A Balancing Act: Copyright in the Electronic Network Environment" (Laura G. Lape, Syracuse Universitys College of Law), and "Freedom of Speech and Censorship in the Electronic Network Environment" (Mike Godwin, Electronic Frontier Foundation).
