This book summarizes recent achievements and the state of the art in microwave power engineering through papers/chapters written by the respective experts. It presents a broad picture of the field, ranging from hot research topics to emerging practical technologies and applications. The text is supplemented by a CD collection of 15 computer models developed by the contributors, imitating either entire systems or their components. This provides readers with direct access to the core of the related studies, facilitating their integration into cutting-edge scientific and engineering activities in the field.

Malgorzata Celuch is assistant professor at the Institute of Radioelectronics, Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland. Specializing in computational electromagnetics and multiphysics modeling, her current research focuses on conformal FDTD methods, new applications of FDTD for microwave power problems, and frequency-domain parameter extraction from FDTD simulations. Vadim V. Yakovlev is research associate professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, Massachusetts. His current research interests include computational electromagnetics; mathematical/computer modeling and CAD for microwave & millimeter wave systems; EM optimization and inverse problems; coupled EM/thermal boundary value problems; multiphysics modeling in microwave power engineering, artificial neural networks applied in material sciences, high frequency electromagnetics , food engineering; modeling-based reconstruction of material parameters; microwave imaging in closed systems; and non-destructive evaluation/monitoring of microwave sintering.
