He is a pioneer and expert in objectoriented software engineering. DOUGLAS C. SCHMIDT, PhD is a professor of Computer Science at Washington University and consults for Lucent Technologies. He is a pioneer in the field of telecommunications patterns and frameworks. RALPH E. JOHNSON, PhD is a member of the famed "Gang of Four" and a professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
