The perfect Halloween or Christmas present for anyone who's loved Virago's HAG or THE VIRAGO BOOK OF WITCHES.
Dr. Sharon Blackie is an award-winning writer, psychologist and mythologist, and an internationally recognised teacher and lecturer in the field of the mythic imagination. Her highly acclaimed books, lectures, and workshops are focused on the relevance of myth, fairy tales, and folk traditions to the personal, cultural, and environmental problems we face today. Her first nonfiction book, If Women Rose Rooted, was a word-of-mouth bestseller, and a 2016 Nautilus Book Award winner. Her most recent book is Hagitude: Reclaiming the Second Half of Life. Sharon's awards include the Roger Deakin Award from the Society of Authors (2022), and a Creative Scotland Writer's Award (2009). She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and has taught and lectured at several academic institutions, Jungian organisations, retreat centres, and cultural festivals around the world. Angharad Wynne is an acclaimed storyteller, writer, speaker and expedition leader. After leading roles in three high-profile Millennium projects, she returned to a more creative life in storytelling, poetry, writing, creative pilgrimage, and the creation of the successful Return to Centre retreat series for women. Alongside steering her own cultural communications consultancy, over the past fifteen years Angharad has developed her own artistic and creative work. She curates a programme of courses, retreats and pilgrimages focused on the mythic landscape and the native spiritual traditions of the British Isles. She co-leads the landmark Contemporary Animism programme at Embercombe and teaches regularly on nature and land-based writing retreats for Literature Wales.
