Set in the wicked streets of New Orleans, which serves as a colorful backdrop for this urban novel telling the story of brothers Nodda and Dizzle. It is a tale of family, murder, mayhem big money and high living. Stuck in da Streetz takes you on a journey that shows the city like never before. The novel depicts in vivid detail that life in the Big Easy ain't always so easy and that is why it is sometimes called the 'City that Care Forgot.' Additionally, it is called 'Choppa City' the 'Cutthroat Capital' where Head Bussing is an everyday thing. Throughout the years, New Orleans have the title of one of the most dangerous cities in America; because of the violence that plagues it as every day bodies drop and the trigga play don't' stop. David 'Dino' Turner, brings the story to life with the people, places and spaces that often are not explored in urban fiction. Throughout this novel he gives a voice to the voiceless, telling a story that is fresh, new and original It paints a picture that's gritty and grimy, but also shiny, as the lure of big money takes Nodda and Dizzle into the world of drug dealing, where they become 'Made Men in Da Streetz' living like street kings 'Doing It Big' with their influence running the gamut, from the streets to the suites, as their enterprise made them untouchable dons in the dope game. In some ways, it is cinematic, spectacular and sensual, Stuck in da Streetz is a novel that captures the language, speech and aura of New Orleans through characters that gives the reader a slice of life beyond life in the streets. It also shows a more human side of the brothers that value love, friendship and family. But as they floss like bosses in the game, at some point their bond is tested as they are at a crossroads; moving in different directions in life. It is something that tests not only their business, but their relationship as brothers.
Nodda and Dizzle was like night and day; two brothers from the uptown area of New Orleans raised in a middle class family. But as in everything in N.O. where poverty is just a stone throw away from the richest. It is a city where the richest, poorest and everyone in between live side by side. So even if you are middle class, you could still get touched by the game and live the treacherous life of hustling in the streets. The Jefferson Brothers, began hustling on the mean streets of New Orleans, then making a connection with a Mexican Drug Lord, who becomes the "e;plug"e; for them getting the best product in the streets as the ride the wave of the road to the riches. The rise to the top by all means necessary, the brothers run their operation taking no shorts no losses. They had the wicked city streets in a kryptonite lock and any large quantities went through them. The brothers were riding high on every front, but as they gotten older Dizzle wanted to retire from the game, build a family and live a more quiet life below the radar. On the other hand, Nodda was still fascinated with life in the fast lane; wanting to keep living the life, addicted to the flash, cash, females and power that come with being a boss. Nodda and Dizzle was Mr. Untouchable and Mr. Untraceable. They had eliminated or surpassed everybody who had a name in the streets. The murder rate had increased by their hands, but questions, the feds, rivals and others were plotting their demise and downfall. Where would the ball bounce in this game where from one moment to the next it could be on bubble, next minutetrouble. I will show you in this urban novel step by step in this tale of murder and mayhem; so let me introduce you to Stuck in da Streetz!!

Chapter 1

My name is Dino, I’m basically here to let you know exactly how it goes down in my neck of the woods. I’m actually about to show you how we rocking in the dirty south. So sit back and relax kick ya feet up and let it do what it do. Now we’re off in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, let’s go!

“Say Nodda! Boy come your fucking ass in this house and wash these muthafuckin dishes like I told you an hour and a half ago. Man Fuck! Nodda said under his breath. She blusing a player. Nodda received his nickname early in life, because there wasn’t a thang you could do around him that he wasn’t aware of. He paid close attention to everything, and I do mean everything. You basically couldn’t miss Nodda on any levels what so ever. He took whatever he saw or used it to his best advantage off top. “Nodda I’m not going to call your muthafuckin ass anymore”. She shouted with an attitude. “Alright I’m coming”. Nodda didn’t have a mother due to her dying through the course of giving birth. Nodda had 2 siblings. A big brother and twin sista. Nodda’s brotha Dizzle was smart, quiet, and sinister all in one. Nodda saw things his brother did he couldn’t possibly think could be done. His twin sista Jazzy was both of their hearts. Nodda, Jazzy, and Dizzle was raised up by their lovable grandmother, and the evil aunt from the wicked west. They were a strict, encouraging, strong family valued people living a simple middle-class life.

Becky was Nodda’s aunt. She was a college educated and street smart all in one, with three different degrees. So getting over on her wasn’t even an option. Becky was very demanding and strict until it didn’t even make any sense. I mean beat that ass strict. That don’t fuck with me type. Also one of the sweetest people you’d want to meet. Then there’s Nodda’s grandmother Ms. Annie Mae, she’s a very loving and open-hearted person. She was cut for Nodda right or wrong. He was the most favorite of all her grandchildren. She spoiled him to death, with a passion. Nodda walked into the house, just as he passed the entrance, Becky appeared from behind the door and batted him in the back of the head “ouch!”

He said, “I been calling your tired and stubborn ass for over an hour, and you just now deciding to bring your ass in this house.” After batting Nodda again, she stood there with her nursing uniform on looking mean. She shouted “now”! Do what I asked you hours ago. Nodda walked off into the kitchen and all the dishes were already done, he knew Jazzy wouldn’t do his chores, so he went straight to his grandmother’s room. He hopped in the bed and embraced her with a hug of love and protection. Becky passed the kitchen and already knew the business, so she yelled from her room. “Next time you going to do it yourself or else”. That’s Nodda for you, always maneuvering through traffic getting over.

With Dizzle already in high school holding it down, Nodda couldn’t help but to be affiliated with the streets. And you must have already heard you live by die by. Dizzle was a senior in Booker T. Washington located by the Calliope Project. You had to be making some noise in the game to survive in that era. Cause bodies dropped on school grounds and all. He graduated successfully. The devil in disguise. But you couldn’t tell Becky or Ms. Annie May anything negative pertaining to Dizzle. He was like a blessed angel. Dizzle was getting it in daily. All business being handled on the set. Far as gun play Dizzle had something to do with it if not personally he gave a direct order, word law.

“Say Dizzle what’s up round?” “Let me holla at cha” Dizzle walked over to him. “What’s good?” “man where that lil boy Nodda at?” “Man your guess is good as mine, why what’s up?” “Man lil one on some other shit out here” “Man where you at with it? Spit it out. “Man them lil muthafuckas don’t want go to school. They set trippin. Plus you know they bumping stones. Them truancy people be lurking. Them boys keep breaking from the law. They drawing heat making the set hot.

“Man where them boys at now?” “Oh, they around the corna in the abandoned house” if money was involved, Dizzle wasn’t having that. “Aight, I’m about to go around the corna now and chastise them lil boys” When Dizzle walked off he noticed a black Dodge Ram coming up the street at him real slow. I mean too slow of a pace to not be on something else. And before it registered, the occupants of the truck raised up from the driver passengers and bed of the truck in slow motion with all choppas in hand. Also known as AK-47’s, SKS, 223’s, Calicoes, AR-15’s all the assault rifles period. Dizzle reflexes automatically told his body to hit the ground. Doing so, he grabbed for his 40 caliber. That he kept permanently placed at his side.

“Say Flim, you saw how slow that truck was moving?” “Where?” Flim asked looking around. “Right there”. Flim pointed, then looked and said exactly. They both saw it coming before it even happened. Flim and Slim broke out with top speed until reaching their destination.

“Man I told you, I know where they kept all the artillery.” Flim looked down at what Nodda exposed to him, it was about 3 choppas and some hand guns. Their hood wasn’t called choppa city for nothing. Nodda snatched a choppa and ran to beat the truck before it reached the set. He picked up a large gun with a pistol grip that had a folding stock on it. Just as Nodda grabbed the gun Flim screamed.

“You can’t handle that big ass gun”. “What I’m going to try”. He was now standing in the cut. Nodda witnessed the whole thang happen. “Flim look that’s my brother on the ground”. And the shots rung out viciously. Without even thinking Nodda ran toward the truck pullin the trigger, Flim was at his side as well bussing off shots. The way Nodda slung the SKS was if it was a normal function or something he did on a daily basis. “Nodda no” Dizzle said, as he drew the fire from his little brotha. Dizzle shot the front passenger in between the eyes and ran up to the truck letting loose more shots. Nodda and Flim not knowing they had already taken out the driver, and one of the lil dudes in the bed of the truck. Dizzle shot the passenger back in the middle of his head “Fa safe keeping pussy ass nigga,” Dizzle shouted. From there the truck ran into a parked car and stalled. The dude in the bed of the truck jumped out and tried to run. “uun uhh. Potner Dizzle barked”. Hit him two times in the legs then Nodda ran down over his falling crawling body and squeezed the trigger until it just clicked.

“Nodda brang your fucking ass here, run c’mon.” Dizzle was back at their post spot with Nodda, Flim and the rest of the clique. “Oh I’m sorry you haven’t met the fellas yet, this a boss call. First there’s Smoke standing 6’3 218 pounds solid. He was one of those black muthafuckas bout that gangsta shit. Then there’s Dicy AKA long hair don’t care, a extra smooth player you know his type. Mocha complexion baby face all business. Then there’s love, a yellow muthafucka and a real ladies man. Then you have my man Sniper A-K-A can’t miss. No more need to be said dude surgical.

“Man what the fuck all that was about?” Snipe asked. “Man all them people on the back dead man fuck,” Dizzle said. “Say Dicey Dizzle called out” “What’s good I need you to run around the bend and see what it do” “aight fam” “call me when you make it” “That’s what’s up Dicey said as he walked off. “Flim and Nodda let me scream at y’all. Why Yall lil niggas not in school?” “We wasn’t testing or nothing so I said fuck it.” Nodda said. “We Grinding Flim said” with confidence. “Where the fuck y’all got them guns from?” Dizzle asked. I been peeped out y’all stash spot.” “Good looking, what the fuck made you run out there like that?” Dizzle already knew the answer. “I saw you on the ground I couldn’t let no nigga dog you like that.” Flim only looked and listened. “Man that shit would have fucked me up for life. Say for real tho, you saw how I chopped that nigga down?” Flim smiled after receiving their first heads. “Chill out, leave that alone, that’s water under the bridge. Don’t go around braggin neither Dizzle said seriously”. “Nigga fuck that I’m a gangsta” Nodda said. “For real you got to lay low on this shit, keep ya mouth closed. They gone be smoking round here, running ya mouth can get cha jammed up. Fuck all that bullshit. Stick to the script, cause I’m not trying to go to the Parish or Angola unless its mandatory for real. Not right now anyway, it’s hot as fish grease in there.”

“Say Love do me a favor,” Dizzle said. “What’s good Round,” said Love. Dizzle looked at him and said, “Look duck them niggas off for me. Get their lil dicks wet or something.” Love smiled. “Alright” “Oh Nodda later on I need to have a gangsta conversation with cha. Big Brotha to lil brotha.” “Alright Nodda said” Dizzle phone began ringing. They jumped in the car with Love, and vanished in the wind.

Man that was years ago, now nigga on some other shit standing tall like the Statue of Liberty. Nodda woke up from the sound of the phone ringing, “Man who the fuck calling my house this type of fucking morning?”

“Hello” Nodda answered with a pissed voice. “Hey bae” “man who this?” He questioned. “So I’m supposed to be ya wifey but from the sounds I’m hearing I’m not nobody huh?” “Oh shit my bad bae I’m still half sleep. I mean what time it is?” He leaned over in the bed, and looked at his Jacobs then said. What the fuck you expect a nigga to sound like at 4:30AM. What up tho sweet lady?”...
