Grief Interrupted shows grieving parents the possibility of being happy again after the death of a child.
A heartfelt guide for grieving mothers, from someone who has found her way out of the pain and darkness of this uniquely difficult loss.   None of us escapes life without experiencing grief in one form or another. But the journey of grieving parents, specifically that of the grieving mother, is something no one can imagine unless they have lived it. Is there a way through? Is it possible to live vibrantly again, to find joy and purpose in life after your teenage child has passed on?  Grief Interrupted is a letter of love, hope, and healing from one mother in grief to another. Corey Stiles, who lost her seventeen-year-old daughter, has walked the path, and her words will inspire you to reclaim your joy. With Corey as your guide, start your journey to a new normal where you will create space for both sorrow and joy to reside within you, without crippling you. On this courageous sojourn, you will rediscover the magic and wonder of life while still honoring your loved one who has transitioned to heaven. Grief Interrupted is like a personal healing retreat for grieving mothers. If you’re ready to move out of the dark, painful sea of grief and into the warmth and light of joy, this is your starting point. While this is a journey only you can set out on, you are not alone. You have someone to guide you, to encourage you, and to walk alongside you. And as difficult as it may be to believe right now, you can be happy again.

From the time she was three years old, Corey’s highest aspiration was to be a mom. She would try to dream of other careers, but her dreams always brought her back to motherhood. That dream came true… twice! Motherhood is her greatest accomplishment. At the peak of her career, that dream was shattered when her daughter Aleisha was killed in a car accident at the age of seventeen. Devastated, disoriented, and stopped in her tracks as she navigated the “year of firsts,” Corey knew, in the back of her mind, that a new normal, a new focus for her life was necessary. But where to start? Drawing from her years as a life coach and her lifelong seeker’s heart, she stepped onto her yoga mat. And with each breath, with every gentle movement, she slowly found her inner illuminated path to joy. More than twelve years later, Corey has helped dozens of women fuel the flame of their inner light and embark on their own journey to joy. She brings lessons from almost twenty years of life coaching, insights from her years of yoga practice, a variety of spiritual expressions, and a deep love of nature to her writing, her coaching, and her yoga teaching. She has an immense desire to infuse life with the happy, playful energy Aleisha embodied. She has been affectionately referred to as “Master Encourager” by her coaching clients and people around the globe often reach out to her saying, “I need my Corey-fix.” Corey is a graduate of Coach U, Martha Beck Life Coach Training, and Cook Street Professional Cooking Program, and is an E-RYT Yoga instructor with over 2500 hours of teaching under her belt. She is grateful to live in Denver, Colorado, where she enjoys walking her canine kids, hiking, SUPing, and has been known to blow off work to go play in her kitchen.
