The Editors: Thomas E. Ryan, an Assistant Professor of German at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, received his Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin in 1983. His book, Hölderlin's Silence, was published in 1988 (Peter Lang Publishing). He has also taught at the University of Arizona at Tucson, the University of Central Arkansas, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, the College of Charleston, and the University of Texas.Denes Monostory, Professor of German at the University of Texas at Arlington since 1966, received his Ph.D. under Wolfgang F. Michael at the University of Texas at Austin in 1963. His book, Der Decameron und die deutsche Prosa des 16. Jahrhunderts, appeared in 1971. He has also taught at Southwestern University at Georgetown from 1959 to 1966.
