Current Approaches in Addiction Psychology

Eda Ermagan is a counselling psychologist, she completed her Master’s and doctoral studies in the Department of Social Sciences of Forensic Medicine Institute at Istanbul University. As part of her postdoctoral work, she studied qualitative research methods in social sciences at King’s College London. She has received several research awards in her career, including the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye MA and PhD Scholarship. She currently delivers lectures on psychological trauma, addiction, forensic psychology and research methods as an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Beykoz University, Turkiye, and provides academic counselling to students who continue their postgraduate education in psychology. In addition to her work in academia, she provides psychological counselling services to individual, families and couples. She mainly utilizes EMDR, Solution Focused Therapy, and Family and Couple Therapy. She is a member of the British Psychology Society (BPS), EMDR-TR, International Investigative Interviewing Research Group and the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues.
