This stunning celebration of London's pubs is a perfect souvenir for tourists, London barflies, beer aficionados - or anyone with an interest in British history and architecture. In 170 full-colour images, "The London Pub" captures 120 of the capital's best-known drinking places. From oak-beamed, 16th-century taverns - often favoured meeting places for smugglers and villains - to the elaborate gin palaces of the Victorian age, London's rich cultural heritage is revealed from a new and dynamic perspective. "The London Pub's" specially commissioned photographs are accompanied by a fascinating history of each pub's architectural evolution, changing role through the centuries and famous - and occasionally infamous - patrons. Practical information on pubs' locations, opening hours and food and drink selections is also included here.
