It features vessels from the major international sailing navies and include the American ships Bonhomme Richard and USS Constitution.
The second volume in the "Plan Portfolio" series, "Men O'War: Sailing Warships 1700-1815", includes a wide variety of warship classes from the Seven Years War, the War of American Independence, French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Vessels from the major international sailing navies are featured and include the American ships Bonhomme Richard and USS Constitution and the Spanish 136-gun Trafalgar flagship Santisima Trinidad. Royal Navy vessels include Nelson's Victory, the 74-gun Bellona as well as smaller craft including Lord Cochrane's sloop HMS Speedy. Fold-out plans are also included for Captain Kidd's "Adventure Galley" (1698) and Blackbeard's "Queen Anne's Revenge" (1718) for additional appeal.

Martin is a military, naval and maritime historian. He completed his BA and his PhD at the King's College London. He is a former Caird Senior Research Fellow at National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. His published work includes The Battle of Trafalgar and, with Malyn Newitt, Lord Beresford and British Intervention in Portugal, 1807-1820. He has published articles in BBC History Magazine, RUSI Journal, Historical Research and the Readers Guide to Military History. Martin has served as Editor of publications including Warship and The Age of Sail and has lectured to The Royal United Services Institute, The Institute of Historical Research and many more.
