Women Pray

This collection celebrates the rich variety of ways women around the world have called out to the Divine - from a broad spectrum of spiritual traditions, East and West, including mediaeval Christian mystics, ancient Greeks, Australian Aboriginals, Native Americans, Jewish poets and Buddhist nuns. Together they provide an eloquent expression of women's inner lives and of the practical, mysterious, painful and joyous endeavour that prayer is.

This volume includes prayers by Beatrijs of Nazareth, Emily Dickinson, Marcia Falk, Angela di Foligno, Denise Levertov, Mirabai Oodgeroo of the tribe Noonuccal Rabi'a, the Mystic Teresa of Ávila, the Therigata nuns, Alice Walker, Miriam Thérèse Winter and many others.
