Brian Griffin lectures in History and Irish Studies at Bath Spa University, where he is also co-ordinator of the Irish Studies Centre. He is the author of The Bulkies: Police and Crime in Belfast, 1800-1865 (Dublin 1997) and Sources for the Study of Crime in Ireland, 1801-1921 (Dublin 2005)
