The Application of Bio-Psycho-Social Principles to Educational Settings
Cognella, Inc (Verlag)
978-1-7935-4718-7 (ISBN)
The Application of Bio-Psycho-Social Principles to Educational Settings helps pre-service and in-service educators better understand the milestones of child and adolescent development as they pertain to teaching, as well as how to apply this understanding to the ever-changing and complex world of students in their classrooms, schools, and communities.
The interactive ebook format allows students to read the text of each chapter and engage with digital learning activities throughout-including clickable key terms, helpful graphics, links to additional readings and resources, embedded videos, and interactive cases-all within a single system.
The interactive ebook employs a bio-pscyho-social (BPS) model to illuminate the workings of the biological, psychological, and sociocultural domains. The opening chapter provides readers with an overview of brain function and development. Proceeding chapters provide summaries of each BPS domain for specific grade-related periods, beginning with early childhood school age (ages 3-5) and concluding with high school age (ages 15-19). Each research-based synopsis is followed by cases focused on biological, psychological, or sociological development and their intersection with academic achievement or personal well-being.
Developed to help educators support children and better foster their success and accomplishment in school and beyond, The Application of Bio-Psycho-Social Principles to Education Settings is an ideal interactive resource for courses and programs in education.
