This book explores critical perspectives on ageing in organisations and offers both managerial and workplace practices for dealing with this prominent issue. The collection provides cross-disciplinary research on the discursive and mythological aspects of ageing at work as well as recent studies of the relationship between age and innovation, talent, careers, and workplace transitions. The book brings together authors from Europe, North America and Australia. By addressing current societal challenges and offering insights on ageing at work, this book will be of interest to those involved in human resource management, workplace organisation and the sociology of work.



Iiris Aaltio is Professor of Management and Leadership at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She holds also adjunct professorships at Aalto University, the University of Turku and the University of Lapland, Finland. She sits on the editorial boards of international journals including the Electronic Journal of Business Ethics and Organization Studies and Culture and Organization, and has authored, edited and co-edited a variety of books and special issues in the areas of culture, diversity and gender in organisations.

Jean Helms Mills is Professor of Management at the Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary's University, Canada, Docent at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and has been a Senior Research Fellow at Hanken School of Economics, Helsinki, since 2008. Jean is currently Co-Editor of Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management and Associate Editor for Gender, Work and Organization.

 Albert J. Mills is Professor and Director of Management at the Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary's University, Canada. He is also Professor at the University of Eastern Finland. Albert is the author of over forty books and special issues, including the recently published Insights and Research on the study of Gender and Intersectionality in International Airline Cultures (2017). He is currently the Co-Chair of the International Board for Critical Management Studies and Co-Editor of Qualitative Research in Organizations and Management.
