We all know we should be more responsible with money and think about our long-term positions, but there is always TOMORROW. Through the media we are constantly bombarded with 'special offers' that we find irresistible, so consumer debt has become the norm. Today, the majority of New Zealanders simply don't have a good understanding of basic money-management. They have become so overwhelmed by their perception of the enormity of what needs to be done to sort out their finances that they just can't see the forest for the trees. The purpose of this book is not only to show the reader how they can improve their financial health, but also to help them realise that it might not be as bad as they think. It is mainly a matter of consistently following some basic principles that will enable good money habits to be developed. The first part of the book deals with the initial challenge of creating the right attitudes, the motivation and the disciplines required for people to become financially successful. The second part focuses on the how-to and takes the reader through the key areas of money management, reinforced by the completion of various exercises.
