MARY JOHN O'HAIR is Professor of Educational Leadership Studies at the University of Kentucky. She was the founding editor of Teacher Education Yearbook and has published numerous journal articles and books on topics including educational leadership, foundations of democratic education, risk and crisis communication, organizational learning, and engaged scholarship. PHILIP A. WOODS is Professor of Educational Policy, Democracy and Leadership, an internationally recognized scholar and the author of over 130 publications. His work focuses principally on educational leadership and policy and education for democracy, with a special focus on distributed, collaborative, and democratic leadership and change towards more democratic environments fostering collaborative and holistic learning. H. DAN O'HAIR served as Professor of Communication and University Research Professor at the University of Kentucky. He authored and edited 23 books and published more than 100 research articles and scholarly chapters on science communication, risk and health communication, media management, natural disasters, and terrorism.
