The Cassa per il Mezzogiorno, the World Bank and the Model for Italian Economic Development

Amedeo Lepore is Full Professor of Economic History at the Department of Economics of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, Italy, where he teaches economic history, business and financial history, and the evolution of capitalism, technologies and finance. He also teaches economic and business history at the Department of Business and Management of Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome. He sits on the Board of Directors of the SVIMEZ (Associazione per lo sviluppo dell’industria nel Mezzogiorno) and is a founder and board member of the Merita Meridione-Italia Foundation. He is a member of the Accademia Pontaniana, the most ancient Italian academy, in the class of Moral Sciences.He has published more than 190 volumes and essays on the economic history of Europe and Italy, the history of Euro-Atlantic trade, economic history’s tools and methods, business, accounting and marketing history, and the economic evolution of Southern Italy.His current research interests concern the globalization process, digital capitalism and the fourth industrial revolution, the dynamics of circular bioeconomy, the evolution of the Italian economic dualism and development strategies.
