This book gathers selected papers presented at the International Conference on SMART Automatics and Energy (SMART-ICAE 2021), held in Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russian Federation during 7-8 October 2021. The book will be useful for wide range of specialists in the field of designing innovative solutions and organizational measures that increase the efficiency of the use of industry technologies in their various manifestations. The issue is also of interest to scientific and engineering personnel engaged in the achievements and farsighted researches in the area of intellectual technology use for solving of real, applied tasks in various areas of industries and policies of nations and systems and for students and undergraduates studying 'Power systems engineering and electrotechnics', 'Automatized systems', 'Managerial systems in power technologies', etc., and postgraduate students in the corresponding branches of study.


Denis B. Solovev is a graduate of Far Eastern State Technical University (Diploma with honours), Vladivostok, Russia. In 2011, he received a Ph.D. in Electric Engineering. From 2011 to 2017, he took internship in the leading Russian and international universities and research laboratories: MATI-Russian State Technological University named after K. E. Tsiolkovsky, Moscow; University of Maastricht, Maastricht (Netherlands); Laboratory of the Ministry of Energy of the United States of America, Seattle and Richland, Washington; Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Zurich; Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong SAR, Hong Kong; Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Faculty of Engineering, Aichi Institute of Technology, Toyota, Japan. He is currently the head of the educational program 'Innovatica' (cluster of energy and electronics) at the Engineering School of the Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russia. His research interest covers electrical energy and power technologies for smart energy conversion, integration, distribution, and utilization, including electric motors and drives, electric generators; electric vehicle technologies, vehicle-to-home, vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-grid; smart grid and microgrid technologies; sustainable and renewable energy systems; wireless power transfer technologies; and smart devices for robotics. Dr. Denis B. Solovev is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of IEEE Societies of IES and PES and serves as a reviewer for over 30 international journals. He has published over 150 leading papers in journals and over 40 papers in conferences in 2001-2021.

Grigorios L. Kyriakopoulos (Ph.D.) is a teaching and research associate at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. He accumulated a 25 years research and teaching service at NTUA, Hellenic Naval Academy (2 years), Hellenic Merchant Marine Academy (2 years), School of Pedagogical and Technological Education of Athens (4 years). Dr. Kyriakopoulos accomplished 21 university quali?cations, including: Chemical Engineering (M.Eng., M.Sc., Ph.D., PostDoc), Environment (B.Sc. and M.Sc.), Business Administration (BA and MA), Hellenic Civilization (BA and MA), Energy (M.Sc.), Education (PGCE), and Psychology (CertHE, HND, PGCert). He is a reviewer for more than 4000 papers at a wide spectrum of scienti?c ?elds, and he (co)authored numerous papers at journals and conferences. He currently serves as a (co)editor for books and special issues in the ?elds of engineering, environment, business and management, renewable energy sources, education, and behavioral ecology. His CV is included at international Who'sWho eds.

Terziev Venelin is a professor of organization and management at the faculty of mechanical and manufacturing engineering, Angel Kanchev Rousse University-Bulgaria; a full professor of National security at the Georgi Rakovski Military Academy, So?a, Bulgaria; D.Sc. in Economics-'Organization and management in the sphere of immaterial production (defence and national security)', at the Vasil Levski National Military University-Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria; D.Sc. in Economics-'Finance, currency, credit and insurance (social security)', at Dimitar Tzenov Academy of Economics-Svishtov, Bulgaria; Ph.D. in Political economy at Chernorisets Hrabar Varna Free University-Bulgaria; a full member of the Russian Academy of Natural History, Moscow, Russia. He has over 1300 scienti?c papers (Web of Science/Scopus-over 220), articles, and reports in Bulgarian, Russian, English, and French published in scienti?c journals and proceedings of international conferences, 40 monographs in English and Russian, 4 monographs in Bulgarian, and 8 textbooks and handbooks.
