This book provides a collection of articles resulting from the International Conference on History, Social Sciences, and Education (ICHSE), which was held on 11 September 2021. The Department of History of Malang State University choose "Embracing New Perspectives in History, Social Sciences, and Education" as the main topic, and elaborates on five subthemes: 1) new trends in historical research; 2) formulation of new perspectives in history, social sciences, and education; 3) transdisciplinary research in history, social sciences, and education; 4) innovations in historical and social science learning during pandemics; 5) New ideas in the research and practice of social sciences and education. This seminar was open to international academics.

This book presents new perspectives on methodology, methods, theory, and themes on history, social sciences, and education research from various perspectives on methodology and historiography. Now, history is not only about politics, economy and military, but also about environment, social, education, culinary, and so on. This book will be useful for students, historians, and the general public, in recording the development of Indonesian historical writing perspectives.

Ronal Ridhoi is a lecturer in History Department, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Malang. He also an editor in history website historicinematic.com that publish some issues about thematical and micro history of Indonesia. His research interests include but not limited to environmental history, thematical history, methodology and historiographical problems in Indonesia. He has published his works in leading academic journals and also presented his academic work at a number of international academic conferences. Arif Subekti is a lecturer in History Program, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Malang. His research interest include but not limited to memory studies, modern history of Indonesia, and Islamic studies. Francis M. Navarro pursued higher studies at the Universidad de Salamanca as a scholar of the Spanish government where he took his Doctorate in Archival Management and Documentation. He is at present an Assistant Professor of History at the Ateneo de Manila University where he teaches and does research on Philippine History, Rizal Studies, Hispanic and Transpacific Histories. He was awarded in 2018 by San Beda College, where he finished his elementary and high school education, as the Most Outstanding Bedan in the field of Arts and Culture. At the moment he is the coordinator of the Philippine Academic Consortium for Latin American Studies. Hariyono is a lecturer at the History Department, Universitas Negeri Malang. Currently, he is given the opportunity to serve as Vice Chairman of BPIP (Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila). His research interest is not only on historical education, but also on citizenship and politics. He has published extensively in various leading academic journals and in books.
