This book is open access and illustrates the spatial distribution of the global change risk of population and economic systems with the maps of environment, global climate change, global population and economic systems, and global change risk. The risks of global change are mapped at 0.25 degree grid unit. The risk results and their contribution rates of the world at national level are unprecedentedly derived and ranked. The book can be a good reference for researchers and students in the field of global climate change and natural disaster risk management, as well as risk managers and enterpriser to understand the global change risk of population and economic systems.
Dr. Peijun Shi received his Ph.D. dregree in Geology from Beijing Normal University in 1988. Dr. Shi is a professor of Beijing Normal University, the president of Qinghai Normal University, the deputy dean of the Academy of Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management, Ministry of Emergency Management and Ministry of Education of China. Dr. Shi focuses on the research of natural disaster and environment change. His recent research interests include: global climate change and risk assessment, etc. Dr. Shi is an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. He is the co-chair of the scientific committee of the Integrated Risk Governance Project, a core project of Future Earth and the International Human Dimensions Programme of Global Environmental Change. Dr. Shi also services as the member of the UNISDR Scientific and Technical Advisory Group, the jury member of the Volvo Environment Prize, the chairman of The Expert Committee of National Disaster Reduction Commission of China, the technical group leader of the first national natural disaster risk survey in China, and the member of the Expert Group of the State Emergency Management Office under The State Council of China.
