Supply Chain Management Strategies and Risk Assessment in Retail Environments

Akhilesh Kumar , PhD, is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Previously, he worked as a Solution Architect in Consulting Team at JDA Software, Bangalore. He received his B.Tech degree in Manufacturing Engineering from National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (India) and PhD degree in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University (USA) in the year 2005 and 2011, respectively. His teaching interests include non-linear programming, multivariate statistical models, generalized linear models, machine learning, and data analytics. He has authored various courses, lectures and workshops on applied machine learning and data analytics at IIT Kharagpur and other premier institutes. He has authored several technical papers. His publications appeared in such journals as International Journal of Production Economics , European Journal of Operational Research , Expert System with Applications, IEEE. He carried out collaborative research with multi-national companies as Ford Motor Company and Delphi Automotive LLP. He has delivered lectures on various topics in companies as TELCON, HAL, McNally Bharat. He also appeared on Marquis Who’s Who in America in 2011. Swapnil Saurav has more than 11 years of work experience in IT industry with focus on Supply Chain in Retail and Manufacturing industries. He is an ambitious, creative and highly motivated individual, who has a passion for the Supply Chain with focus on Retail and Manufacturing industries and an uncompromising commitment to quality and outstanding customer service. He has been invited to be the key note speaker at various industry forums and has a passion for teaching & developing leaders for tomorrow. His expertise lies in figuring out ways to do what others say can't be done. He holds MBA from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, M.S. (BITS, Pilani) and B.E. (Visvesvaraya Technological University). Currently he is pursuing PhD in Supply Chain Management from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (Deharadun).
