These papers from the British Universities Siberian Studies seminar held in 1986, cover aspects of Siberia's history from the 17th to the 19th century, the past and present situation of the non-Russian ethnic minority peoples of Siberia and contemporary social and economic problems of this area.
This series includes books on general, political, historical, economic, social and cultural themes relating to Russia and East Europe written or edited by members of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies in the University of London, or by authors working in association with the School. The contents of this book are the result of the fourth meeting of the British Universities Siberian Studies Seminar held at the University of London in April 1986.
