An explanation of the use and benefits of running power meters for athletes.
Hans van Dijk and Ron van Megen have been fans of running power meters for years. They are internationally known for their books on the subject. Koen de Jong thought that running on power and the books by Hans and Ron were just complicated stuff and didn't want to know anything about it.
Now Koen has changed his mind too.
Power meters are revolutionizing running and have tremendous potential for understanding and improving performance. More and more runners are opting for racing and training with wattage instead of heart rate or pace.
In this book Hans, Ron and Koen explain clearly the advantages of running on power. And most importantly, it is very simple and brings peace of mind to your training.
The Power to Run is in three parts: what's in it for you, backgrounds and practical tips and cases.

Hans van Dijk is a lifelong runner and scientist. After retiring from his professorship at Delft University of Technology, he has been studying the laws of running and cycling, developing new concepts and models and writing books and columns on running, cycling and other endurance sports. He has developed the running and cycling calculators, enabling the readers to analyze and calculate their own performances. Ron van Megen is a lifelong runner, civil engineer (Delft University of Technology) and managing director of organizations in the fields of applied technology. He is keen on quantifying his results and on using all new technologies, including power meters. The work of Hans van Dijk and Ron van Megen has been published in 6 languages. Koen de Jong (1979) is co-owner of the popular websites for runners sportrusten.nl and prorun.nl. He has written several books about running, cycling and respiration. His work has been translated into more than 10 languages.
