This contributed volume brings together an inclusive collection of information about the medicinal crop fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum). Fenugreek is one of the medicinal plants important in the management of diabetes and contributes greatly in the alternative systems of medicine. These beneficial properties of fenugreek are covered in here. Further, this book explores the agronomy, biotechnology, genomics and biochemistry aspects of the crop. This book is of interest to teachers, researchers, agronomists and biochemists. Also, the book serves as additional reading material for graduate students of agriculture and pharmacology. National and international agricultural scientists, policy makers will also find this to be a useful read.

Dr. M. Naeem is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. Dr. Naeem received the degrees of BSc, MSc and PhD in Botany from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He is recipient of Research Associateship and Young Scientist Award from the CSIR, New Delhi, State Government of Uttar Pradesh, India, respectively. Also, he has received Postdoctoral fellowship of DST, SERB, New Delhi and UPCST, India. He is member of Indian Society for Plant Physiology, Indian Botanical Society, Society for Medicinal Plant & Natural Product, Germany, American Society for Plant Biologists, USA etc. His research focuses on escalating the production of MAPs and their active principles using a novel and safe technique involving radiation-processed polysaccharides as well as the application of PGRs under normal and stressed conditions.
Dr. Tariq Aftab received his Ph.D. in the Department of Botany at Aligarh Muslim University, India, and is currently an Assistant Professor there. He is the recipient of a prestigious Leibniz-DAAD fellowship from Germany, Raman Fellowship from the Government of India, and Young Scientist Awards from the State Government of Uttar Pradesh (India) and Government of India. Dr. Aftab also worked as Visiting Scientist at Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK), Gatersleben, Germany, and in the Department of Plant Biology, Michigan State University, USA. He has edited 11 books with with international publishers, including Elsevier Inc., Springer Nature and CRC Press (Taylor & Francis Group), co-authored several book chapters, and published over 60 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
