Since taking on his first general management role at the age of 22, Dean Minett has worked in, managed or consulted to hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants and casinos across all states of Australia. Dean Minett is the principal of his own management consultancy, specialising in tourism and hospitality and, prior to this, was Country General Manager/Director, Australia for The Ascott Limited, the world's largest owner/operator of serviced residences. Dean has been actively involved in many aspects of the industry via board or committee membership including the Catering Institute of Australia, The Hospitality Management Guild, Australian Institute of Hospitality Management, Australian Hotel Association, Hotel Motel and Accommodation Associate and Victoria University. He was involved with the Victorian Tourism Awards from 2001 to 2005 in the capacity of both judge and Chairman of the Mentor Panel and was recognised as a 'Legend of Tourism' by Tourism Training Australia in 2004. Dean completed his Master of Business (Hospitality and Tourism) in 2007, researching Ethics and Leadership in Hospitality, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Vivienne O’Shannessy has worked in and consulted to the tourism and hospitality industries for more than 30 years, most recently as owner and manager of a restaurant in Melbourne's vibrant Fitzroy. She has extensive training and assessment, learning and development, instructional design, and curriculum and resource-development experience. She currently works in policy and project development with a leading Australian assessment-only Registered Training Organisation. She holds a Master of Business Administrations, Diploma of Hospitality and a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Creative Writing).
