Memories of the Lincolnshire Fishing Industry

During the 20th century Lincolnshire's ports provided one fifth of all the fish eaten in Britain. In the 1970s this changed as a result of the cod war with Iceland over a dispute about fishing rights in home waters. New technology such as satellite navigation, sonar and mechanical winches also played its part. The fleet got smaller and changed direction. Of the smaller local ports.
