Equine Health and Emergency Management is intended for the learner to be able to understand and implement actions to improve the health and wellness of horses in their care. The series of chapters flow from horsemanship and responsibility to guidelines for health and maintenance, and recognizing the difference between a regular veterinary appointment, and a true emergency call. It effectively guides the reader through what’s normal, and to recognize what’s not. This book can help the effectiveness of the reader’s communication with his/her veterinarian. Important information on disasters is included covering how to be prepared from formulating a plan to being able to put it into action. The goal of this book is to help the reader think, prepare, plan, and be able take action if necessary, when necessary.

After years of working with horses, Bonny Henderson began her undergraduate education in Geneseo, NY. Dr. Henderson graduated from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell in 1994 and is certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. In 2000, Dr. Henderson and her husband opened the Henderson Equine Clinic. Today their respected clinic services the equine needs in Western New York with quality, compassionate care. In her spare time Dr. Henderson is an avid foxhunter.
