This book, the first in a series of forensic nursing titles, considers a wide range of nursing interventions with individuals with 'personality disorders'. Its publication follows Department of Health requirements for specialist health servicesfor people with these diagnoses, and for relevant staff training. The book includes material relevant to mental health nurses who are newly qualified and/or considering a career in forensic nursing; and to mental health branch student nurses. The book can be used also by service users, informal carers, healthcare support workers, non-nursing mental health professionals, prison nurses and workers in social care.
This book has been edited by the National Forensic Nurses' Research and Development Group. Most of the chapter authors are leading nurse practitioners, researchers and educationalists. There are also important contributions from service users.
