As a world heritage site and one of the most visited cities in the world, Edinburgh boasts a huge range of building from all periods and in many different styles. In this book, architectural writer Robin Ward introduces 200 of the city’s most fascinating places, from imposing public buildings such as galleries, museums, banking halls, churches and theatres to pubs, domestic dwellings, monuments and industrial architecture.

Conveniently grouped by location, all areas of the city are covered, including suburbs and places outside the city boundaries. All are accessible by walking, cycling, public transport or car.

Robin Ward is an architecture critic, writer and graphic designer who was born and raised in Glasgow. He studied at Glasgow School of Art and subsequently worked for the BBC in London, and in Canada, where he was architecture critic for the Vancouver Sun. He has written a number of books, including Some City Glasgow, The Spirit of Glasgow, and co-wrote Exploring Bangkok.
