Simulation Tools for Analysis and Evaluation of Data-Signal Transmission (STAEDT), is a simulation program created for communications engineers who work with transmission or storage of data signals. Volume 1 explains simulation principles and modelling, and Volume 2 comprises a manual and disk.
This packaged set includes both the book Simulation Techniques: Models of Communication Signals and Processes as well as the authors' STADT Program and its complete reference manual. Together, these two works provide a powerful resource for the design of communication systems. Models of Communication Signals explains in detail how to use simulation programs as a software breadboard to analyze and evaluate the performance of data communications links. It describes the engineering principles of signal transmission and its simulation, explores programming issues, and provides a comprehensive reference for models of signal processes. The STADT Program includes the complete STADT software on disk, plus a reference manual with instructions for installation, rules for preparing command lists, methods of using the menus, complete details on each command, and extensive examples. STADT is a versatile, powerful program for simulation of data signals and processes on personal computers. The two-volume Simulation Techniques set is a ideal resource for all designers, practicing engineers, and graduate students involved in the analysis and evaluation of communications systems.
Computer requirements: IBM-compatible PC with at least 640K RAM, one hard disk drive, and one high-density 3.5 inch floppy disk drive. STADT runs under DOS 3.3 or later or as a DOS application under Windows 3.1 or 95. Graphics support: CGA, EGA, VGA, Olivetti, AT&T, or Hercules Monochrome Graphics (Hercules requires driver not included with STADT).
