This book is a comprehensive and modern guide on emerging nanoparticles and their diverse applications in engineering, medicine, food safety, transportation, energy, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. Written by leading researchers from all over the world, it is designed to cover the full range of nanoparticles as well as provide in-depth detail regarding their development, characterization, processing, and synthesis. The book is divided into two sections: the first covers the development of advanced nanoparticles and the second is dedicated to their variety of cutting-edge applications. The authors also cover the unique properties and green synthesis of nanoparticles as well as their use as nanobiosensors, nanopesticide, nanofertilizer, and as energy storage and conversion devices, just to name a few. This book provides readers with insight onto the broad scope of computational, theoretical, and experimental research on novel nanoparticles and their applications. It is ideal for both young and experienced researchers and industry professionals in the field of nanotechnology.
Dr. Suneev Anil Bansal is working with ELFROU Inc (Elfrou.com), a startup initiative on Nanoparticle based consumer and sensing products. He has more than 15 years of diverse experience in industry, research laboratories, and academia. He has served in key positions in projects such as automobile development at Hero Motor Corp., fighter aircraft development at DRDO, and nanomaterials and manufacturing development at various universities. His research interests include 2D materials, graphene, polymer/metal composite materials, sensing, and nanomaterials.
Dr. Virat Khanna is an assistant professor and head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Maharaja Agrasen University and has 11 years of teaching experience. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Maharaja Agrasen University. His main area of research is on aluminum metal matrix nanocomposites (graphene, CNT, processing techniques, optimization, and mathematical modeling techniques). He is author of the book 'Steady State Creep in Rotating Thick-Walled Composite Cylinders' and editor of the book 'Emerging & Futuristic Trends in Engineering & Technology'.
Dr. Nilanthy Balakrishnan is a physics lecturer at Keele University in Staffordshire, England and has more than 10 years of experience in semiconductor physics and nanofabrication. Her current research interest is in the fundamental science and applications of 2D materials. She has extensive experience in developing and exploiting 2D materials growth, specifically for optoelectronics, ferroelectrics, and thermoelectrics. She obtained her PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Nottingham in 2015. The success of her research was recognized by the European Materials Research Society (E-MRS) Young Scientist Award in 2012.
Dr. Pallav Gupta is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Amity School of Engineering and Technology in Noida, India. He received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi in 2015. His areas of research include material processing, composite materials, mechanical behavior, and corrosion. Dr. Gupta is experienced at teaching subjects like material science, engineering materials, manufacturing processes, measurement and metrology, and composite materials. He has published over 85 research papers in peer reviewed international journals as well as in reputable international and national conferences. He has also written 7 book chapters.
