This book is a compilation of ten technical archival publications describing the analysis of various icosahedrons, primarily of a nonlinear nature. Static and dynamic characteristics are considered, and other covered topics range from large displacements and rotations to the consideration of chaotic behaviour. There is a great deal of experimentation included in several papers, from a quasi-static point of view as well as that of dynamics.

Dr Anthony Palazotto was Distinguished Professor of Aerospace Engineering within the Air Force Institute of Technology's (AFIT) Graduate School of Engineering and Management, USA, and is presently Adjunct Professor at Wright State University, USA. He is the author of over 700 presentations and publications, 275 of which are archival. He has received over $5.75 million dollars in Air Force research funding. To date, Palazotto has advised over 190 theses in Air Force technology and an additional 39 PhD dissertations. He was granted patent number 10843783 (issue date November 24, 2020) and patent number 11858610 (issue date January 2, 2024).Palazotto is a fellow in four different prestigious engineering societies: the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Academy of Mechanics, and the Engineering Mechanics Institute. His research interests include finite elements, nonlinear analysis, structural dynamics, composite materials, and additive manufacturing.
