The book focuses on the topologies of non-isolated DC-DC converters with a wide voltage gain range for renewable energy systems. It addresses both theoretical principles and engineering practices. Each chapter introduces a family of non-isolated DC-DC converters, including advanced control methods. The inclusion of modeling and experimental verification provides in-depth applications in fuel cell vehicles, electric vehicles with multiple sources including batteries and super-capacitors, and photovoltaic systems. The book is beneficial for researchers, engineers, and graduate students in the fields of renewable energies, as well as electrical and electronic engineering.

Yun Zhang (M'13-SM'18) was born in Jiangsu, China. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the Harbin University of Science and Technology, Harbin, China, in 2003 and 2006, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2010. Subsequently, he joined the Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, as a Lecturer with the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, where he is currently a Professor of Power Electronics. From Dec. 2016 to Dec. 2017, he was an Academic Visitor with the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Group at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K.. His current research interests include topologies, modulation, and control strategies of power converters for electric vehicles, microgrids, and renewable energies. Dr. Zhang was selected as one of the 300 Innovating Talents in Tianjin, and one of the Peiyang Youth Scholars at the Tianjin University respectively in 2018. He is an Associate Editor of the JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS, and was also awarded as the Outstanding Dedication and Contribution Prize towards this journal in 2018.

Shenghan Gao was born in Anhui, China. She received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the North China University of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2018. She received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and started working towards the Ph.D. degree in energy and power from the Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2021. Her current research interests include DC-DC converters and energy management of electric vehicles as well as photovoltaic systems.
